This film is an audiovisual metaphor of the creative process that Perujazz group has. “Magico” is the title of its last album and this film expresses through different Peruvian landscapes the characteristics of the search for the ancestral roots these musicians have found as a source of inspiration to achieve the unique sound that characterizes Perujazz after more than 30 years of experimentation. It is also a meaningful tribute to one of the greatest musicians of Peru, Don Julio “Chocolate” Algendones, and the influence of his deep quest on the rest members of the group. Andrés Prado, the guitarist of the band, is represented by images and sounds of the Peruvian jungle. Jean Pierre Magnet identifies with the Andean world and its color, Julio Zavala with the big cities, the loud cities. César Ballumbrosio brings with him the Afro-Andean heritage of the rural region of El Carmen and finally the drummer Manongo Mujica represents his musical search through the desert of Paracas. The film speaks of the ancestral sound of deep Peru as well as the present and future sound that Perujazz represents for the world.
